Detailed Description

When Spring Boot's auto-configuration is allowed to remain a 'black box,' uncertainty often arises during debugging and further development. Building sustainable systems requires a fundamental insight into how the framework's core works, how the architecture is structured, and how the application is monitored in production. In this workshop, we demystify Spring Boot through Active Learning. We start by building the web layer via REST controllers and then establish a professional layered architecture to fully understand Inversion of Control (IoC) and Dependency Injection. Finally, we take the application all the way to production by implementing environment profiles and vital health checks, giving the team a solid foundation to make confident architectural decisions. We explore the depths of the application context by handling common pitfalls like Component Scan traps and interface collisions using @Qualifier. Furthermore, we replace brittle, hardcoded strings with type-safe external configuration via @ConfigurationProperties. During the workshop, we also configure professional SLF4J logging and use Spring Profiles to seamlessly switch business logic between development and production environments without changing the Java code. Actlea's core philosophy is that Spring Boot's magic is its greatest asset, but only when it is transparent to the developer. As a finale, we connect our architecture to modern cloud environments using Spring Boot Actuator. By building custom Health Indicators for our business logic, we learn how the cloud infrastructure can automatically monitor and restart failing systems. This workshop serves as the ultimate starting point for building robust backend systems ready for extreme scale.
